Binha is fighting an aggressive brain tumour. Her family is standing beside her.

Binha’s son never imagined he would be writing a fundraiser about his own mother.

A few weeks before the campaign was published, Fabiane — Binha to everyone close to her — was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive glioblastoma. Her son describes the diagnosis as the moment their family’s normal life suddenly collapsed inward.

Binha is a wife, mother, daughter, and sister — the person her family says has always shown up for everyone else. Now she is the one in the hospital gown, trying to stay brave while the people around her learn how to live between appointments, scans, and difficult conversations.

The treatment path described by the family is demanding and fast-moving: specialist consultations, scans, chemotherapy, hospital trips far from home, periods of recovery, medication, and in-home care on days when Binha is too weak to manage alone.

At the same time, members of the family have had to step back from work to stay close to her. The ordinary costs of life — housing, groceries, fuel, medication, and travel — continue even while cancer rearranges everything else.

That is why her son is asking for help. The family cannot remove the diagnosis, but financial support can reduce some of the fear surrounding bills and allow them to spend more of their energy on Binha’s treatment and care.

Her father is trying to stay strong. Her grandmother continues to pray. Her younger child simply wants mum to come home and remain there. And through every difficult day, Binha’s family is trying to hold on to hope.
